Owl Prowl at the Congaree National Park

OWL PROWL, Friday, April 9

Let’s meet in front of Preston at 6:45 in our cars and caravan to the Park. If you plan to travel independently, please let Jim know, and don’t be late! The Park has put at least six people on a waiting list. We don’t want to show up with fewer than the number I will have verified.

Leave Preston at 6:50 sharp.
Convene at the Visitor Center at 7:30
Prowling from 8:00 to 10:00

Limit: 30
A sign-up list will be posted at the Front desk at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 30 (today). If you sign up and have to drop out, be sure to:
1. cross your name off the list
2. call Jim so he’ll know.

Waiting List
Write your name and cell phone # so you can be contacted if a space opens up. That might happen at the last minute, so consider yourself to be on standby and keep the evening open until 7:00.

Park rules and recommendations

No flip-flops or sandals. Hiking boots recommended.
Skeeters should be minimal but long pants and shirts are a good idea.
Bring water and Off!
Bring flashlights w/ red cellophane filters. I will try to provide the
cellophane and rubber bands.

Weather
If we’re in a lightning storm, the Prowl is cancelled. Stay home.
If a lite rain, we prowl.
